National Museum of Rome

The National Museum of Rome is in fact a number of museums split among four different sites, Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, Palazzo Altemps, Terme di Dioleziano and Crypta Balbi. It was founded in 1889 with the aim of collecting antiques from the 5th century BC to the 3rd century AD.
